Q:    Where did you grow up?
A:    Milton,Ontario

Q:    How old were you when you started skiing?
A:    6 years old out of a resort calledSnowValley.

Q:    What is the best thing that has happened to you because of your involvement in
        sport?
A:    The strong relationships with friends and family that I have built from travelling the
        world together.

Q:    Why do you think it is important for kids to be active?
A:    Being active is a big part of living a healthy lifestyle. Activities and sports are such a
positive and fun way to spend free time.

Q:    What motivates you to be active (practice) on days that you don’t feel like it?
A:    On the days where it is harder to find motivation, all I have to do is think about the bigger
picture and of the goals that I hope to achieve. For me, I think about the Olympic Gold
        medal around my neck.

Q:    What advice can you give kids to increase their physical activity?
A:    I would strongly encourage kids to surround themselves with other people who share
similar interests. Sport and activities are a great way to meet friends, boost confidence
        and to have fun!

It’s a privilege to represent Canada on an international level and I can’t even begin to explain how grateful I am for everything that sport has given to me. I have made the best friends and explored the world. I get to wake up every morning and challenge myself in new and exciting ways in the sport environment. As an athlete, not only do I get to live a healthy, physically active lifestyle, I have to opportunity to share and promote those experiences with kids.
